Back to School Nights This Week
Our elementary schools welcome families on Wednesday, September 9 from 6 - 7 pm, while our Kindergarten families can experience Back to School Night on Thursday, September 10. Meet your child's teacher, visit the classroom, and learn about the exciting year ahead.
School Breakfast Begins September 14
Numerous studies, including research from Harvard and Tufts Universities, have shown a direct correlation between school breakfast participation and academic performance. In addition, breakfast participation has shown to improve school attendance, students' attention spans, and performance of tasks; fewer problems with irritability, anxiety and aggression were also noted. All KCSD students will begin receiving Free Breakfast on Monday, September 14.
Honoring Hispanic Heritage September 15 - October 15
Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long celebration of Hispanic and Latino history and culture. While we celebrate Hispanic and Latino communites beyond this month, from September 15 to October 15 we give extra recognition to the many contributions made to the history and culture of the United States, including important advocacy work, vibrant art, popular and traditional foods, and much more.
