KHS Wrestling

The 2020-2021 Blue Demons Wrestling Team had quite the season this year.  Their collective dual record included 6 wins and 2 losses with key victories over Rustin High School and Unionville. The team placed 5th in the District 1 AAA South Tournament, 11th in the South East Regional AAA Tournament, and 40th in the PIAA AAA State Championship tournament.

The wrestling team boasted the most individual qualifiers in the school’s history for post-season meets.  Trent Kochersperger, Darrale Barrett, Joey Wuchter, John Pardo, and Josh Barlow all qualified for the Southeast Regional Tournament where Kochersperger and Barrett placed 4th and 2nd respectively. At the PIAA AAA state tournament, Kochersperger and Barrett both competed, making school history once again having two teammates qualify for the state meet. To culminate an incredible season, Trent Kochersperger medaled and took 5th place overall and became the first KHS wrestler to win a state medal in over a decade.

The team unfortunately bids farewell to two team captains, graduating seniors Trent Kochersperger and Paul James Pebly.  All the while, the team has a lot to look forward to.  Five returning wrestlers have all previously qualified for regional qualifiers, and the upcoming class of freshman includes a promising crop of young talent.  With Coach Kevin Reigel at the helm, we know that next year’s team has a bright future.
