Board

The Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD) Board is composed of nine voting elected officials and a non-voting member, the Superintendent. Board Members are designated by law to administer the District’s school system on behalf of the State of Pennsylvania.

Board members attend informational workshops, serve on committees and set the direction of the District by voting at public board meetings.

KCSD’s strength is its bilingual and multicultural community. In alignment with the District’s vision and mission, the Board charges our administration to build on that strength with an educational system that enables all of our students to succeed, no matter their origin or primary language.

Agendas, Minutes, Policies and Video

KCSD uses BoardDocs to hold all information related to our Board of School Director Meetings including agendas, minutes and recordings. All approved policies are also stored on this platform that is separate from the KCSD website.

Agendas are published on the Friday before Monday Board meetings. Minutes from meetings are posted the following month after a meeting after they are approved by the Board.

Closed Caption Option in English and Spanish

Currently, you can watch the Board or Committee meetings with closed captioning (text versions of the audio content of a video) in a language of your choice. Please follow the instructions below to turn on closed captioning.

1. Go to the KCSD YouTube Channel and click the LIVE button

2. Choose the date of the video you want to watch (either happening live or already steamed).

3. Click toward the bottom of the video and an area of icons will appear. Click the "CC" button.

Board and Committee Meetings

The Board of School Directors of the Kennett Consolidated School District invites you to attend our board and committee meetings, which are open to the public.

Communications and Finance Committees: First Monday evening of the month beginning at 6:00 p.m. for Communications, 7:00 p.m. for Finance
Policy and Curriculum Committees: Last Monday evening of the month beginning at 6:00 p.m. for Policy, 7:00 p.m. for Curriculum.
Full Board Meetings: Second Monday evening of the month beginning at 7:00 p.m. (except December).

Stay informed about how our district is serving the needs of all of its constituents. Attend a meeting in person in the library of the Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center or view a livestream of the meeting through our BoardDocs platform. A full meeting schedule may be found below.

Speak at a Board Meeting

If you are interested in addressing the School Board but aren’t sure where to start, follow these guidelines to ensure your voice is heard:

Eligibility: You must be a resident, taxpayer, parent or guardian of a District student, or a District employee or student.
Agenda item: If your topic is listed on the Board agenda, you will be recognized to speak at the beginning of the meeting.
Non-agenda items: For topics not on the agenda, you will have the opportunity to speak at the end of the meeting.
Registration: All speakers must register with the Superintendent’s Office in writing by 12:00 noon the day of the meeting. The most efficient way to do so is by emailing Cassie Yang at cyang@kcsd.org. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, topic, and any group affiliation.

Mr. David Kronenberg, President

Region B– New Garden Township

Term Expires: December 2027

David Kronenberg has worked as a product manager and brand ambassador in the financial and nonprofit sectors. He believes in the innate capabilities of each student-- and that individual success promotes Kennett success. He is committed to the importance of the partnership between students, parents, staff and community partners. He believes in the benefits of public school education, and that effective governance, leadership and resource management require listening, a commitment to learning and trust. He is thankful for our students, for those who support them and for the opportunity to serve as a School Director. Dave is proud of his son and daughter, who are both in the Kennett Class of 2026.

Dr. Victoria Gehrt, Vice President

Region C– Kennett Township & East Marlborough Township Independent #1

Term Expires: December 2025

Victoria Gehrt has been a public educator for nearly five decades, both in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Her experiences during her career were vast, beginning as a special education teacher then moving on to specialized positions during the period when northern Delaware public schools were desegregated by court order. Experiences she encountered in those positions made a profound impact on shaping and guiding her collaborative leadership style. She has served in various capacities that include assistant principal, director of instructional services, assistant superintendent and superintendent. A champion of career and technical education, Vicki was known to be a “go-to” resource for elected officials, state agencies and organizations on policies affecting vocational education, funding and equity issues. She wishes to continue to serve our educational community with her knowledge, expertise and passion of current and future educational practices that benefit our youth. She has always and continues to believe that we have a responsibility to ensure that our students are provided with innovative and thoughtful educational experiences that will enable them to be successful in their future endeavors whether it be on a local, national or global level.

Mr. Michael Finnegan, Treasurer

Region C– Kennett Township & East Marlborough Township Independent #1
Term Expires: December 2027

Michael Finnegan has served as the director of LabWare Holding Inc. since 1993. He has been on the KCSD School Board since 2007 and has served as treasurer and finance chairs. In addition, he is a board member with the Kennett Education Foundation and with numerous other non-profit organizations. His main focus has been youth development, primarily in academics, music and sports.

Ms. Lenda Carrillo

Region A– Kennett Square Borough

Term Expires: December 2027

Lenda Carrillo, born and raised in Mexico, moved to Kennett Square when she was 16. Lenda later graduated from Kennett High School, Penn State and Immaculata University. She is currently employed as a clinical supervisor for Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems and previously worked for the Kennett Area YMCA as the community outreach director and for Kennett Area Community Service (KACS) as a caseworker. As a volunteer, Lenda has given her time to Longwood Gardens and Young Moms. Lenda and her husband, Jose, have two young sons. She hopes to make a difference by volunteering in our community.

Mr. Ethan Cramer

Region A– Kennett Square Borough

Term Expires: December 2025

Ethan Cramer is a community organizer. He has lived in Kennett Square since 2007, when he moved into a tight-knit Latinx neighborhood in Stenning Hills. He began volunteering for the Study Buddies after-school program in the Historic East Linden Neighborhood of the Borough as a tutor and instructor beginning in 2011, and has close connections in that community as well. His experience of neighbors becoming family has been formative, and he focuses on the role our schools play in connecting our region’s diverse communities together. Ethan served on Kennett Square’s Borough Council for six years, beginning his term on the KCSD School Board at the end of 2021. He is proud of his record supporting diverse voices, working for good government practices and supporting staff and educators. Ethan’s spouse, Michele, is a long-term teacher in the West Chester Area School District. His son, Elias, is an amazing 10th grader at Kennett High School.

Ms. LaToya Myers

Ms. Lynn Golden-Mirarchi

Region B– New Garden Township

Term Expires: December 2027

Lynn has served in public education for nearly 20 years, with over a decade of experience with the School District of Philadelphia, and currently in her sixth year as a school Library Media Specialist in Chester County. She brings experience from her roles in teaching and in district administration as a grant manager, overseeing district-wide and IU-level initiatives for Federal Programs, the Office of the Superintendent, Teaching and Learning, Curriculum, Title II and IIB, and Title III. By the end of her tenure with the School District of Philadelphia, she managed a budget of $93-million in Federal and private grants and initiatives.

She holds two undergraduate degrees in English and in Secondary Education from Temple University as well as two Master’s degrees: an M.A. in Museum Studies & M.Ed. in Education, with PDE teaching credentials in: English (7-12), ESL Program Specialist (PK-12), and Library Media Specialist (PK-12).

Lynn lives in Chester County with her husband, Dr. Frank Mirarchi and their daughter (who is now a busy elementary student attending school right here in Kennett). She is honored to serve the community as School Director for Kennett Consolidated School District and looks forward to working with the students, families, educators, district administration, and the wonderful community here in Kennett Square.

Dr. Jeffrey McVey

Region B– New Garden Township

Term Expires: December 2025

Jeffrey McVey is a health science executive. He currently serves as an account director at Jazz Pharmaceuticals and previously held roles at Point-of-Care Partners, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Health System, where he was an assistant professor and clinical pharmacist. Both Jeff and his wife attended public schools and believe that an effective public school system is an essential component of a strong community. His three children attended KCSD schools.

Mr. Mark Bowden

Region C– Kennett Township & East Marlborough Township Independent #1

Term Expires: December 2025

Mark Bowden is an author and journalist. He was a staff writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer for 25 years, a national correspondent for The Atlantic and taught for sixteen years at Loyola University of Maryland and The University of Delaware, where he was writer in residence. He serves on the School Board out of a desire to serve the community.
