Building Our Future
At the Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD), we are building our future! The District has embarked on two capital construction projects at Greenwood and New Garden Elementary Schools.
“For more than half-a-century, the current buildings have been a welcoming home-away-from-home for KCSD students. We look forward to providing future-forward spaces for discovery and learning to take place.” – KCSD Superintendent Dr. Dusty Blakey.
A first step, Allentown-based Breslin Architects delivered the final results of their feasibility study. Developed during the 2021-22 Academic Year, the report analyzed multiple sources of data and made high-level recommendations for the District’s Board of Directors to consider about both the scope and size of the projects.
Based on this information, at its July 2022 meeting, the District’s Board of Directors voted to build two new schools between January 2024 and August 2026 with a planned opening of both schools for the 2026-27 academic year.
