Yes, all students, K-12 will have a District Chromebook & charger assigned to them.

• Elementary students will maintain their District Chromebooks in the classrooms unless otherwise advised by the Building Administrator
• All students, grades K through 12, are expected to have their District Chromebook and charger in school, every day
• Students forgetting their device will not be provided with loaner device for the day
• Incoming first, fifth, and ninth grade students will receive a new Chromebook which they will maintain for four years
• Graduating seniors will submit their devices at the end of the year to be redistributed to incoming Kindergarten students. 

• Elementary: Students can report the issue to their homeroom teacher who will submit a work order for the Technology Department to address.
• Secondary: Students can bring the device to the library during the scheduled time for each building and be assigned a loaner device if needed.

Yes. Personal devices are allowed per teacher discretion, if an approved device, (see below), but
must have their District Chromebook and charger accessible in school at all times.

• Students who repeatedly fail to bring their District device to school could have wifi restricted on personal device.
• Approved Devices include:
  • Chromebooks (not exceeding the AUE, Windows 8.1 or newer)
  • Apple laptops & iPads*

* Be aware, there are limitations with iPads & other tablets when trying to access online content.

Yes. The District is working to finalize specifics of the Kennett Chromebook Protection Plan and will be sending information to parents as soon as possible.

YES, only if a student has technology at home and can effectively access Clever and all the necessary District programs to complete their activities. However, all parents still need to complete the Technology Agreement Form, within the Skyward Parent Portal, regardless of taking the device home or not.

As indicated in the Technology Agreement Form: By accepting a District Chromebook, you hereby agree to the following:

Assume full responsibility of the Chromebook and incur any costs associated with negligent or intentional damages that may occur while in my possession, including full replacement in the event of theft.

• Elementary Headsets: Replacement cost $10/USB, $16/non-USB
• Lost/Damaged Charger: Replacement cost $36
• Keyboard/Trackpad Damage: Repair estimate $80
• Broken Audio Port: Repair estimate $100
• Broken Display: Repair Estimate $120
• Liquid Spills: Repair Estimate $180
• Mechanical Failure/Loss of Device: Full replacement $240
