Kennett Consolidated School District is proud to offer STEM Education for our students at every level. At our high school, STEM has been growing every year. We now offer three engineering courses: Introduction to Engineering, Principles of Engineering, and Civil Engineering & Architecture with a fourth course, Aerospace Engineering, slated for the 2016-17 school year. With the completion of the four STEM courses and a Capstone Course, students will receive STEM certification from Project Lead the Way (PLTW). At the middle school level, every student participates in three quarter-long courses: Design and Modeling in 6th grade, Flight and Space in 7th grade, and Automation and Robotics in 8th grade. These courses provide the fundamentals of engineering for all students and spark interest in continued learning of engineering at the high school level. At the elementary level, we offer a summer STEM Camp in Robotics and have introduced an after-school Launch program focused on the application of physical science topics for 3rd and 4th graders. All courses are taught by PLTW certified teachers through hands-on project-based activities.
