At the Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD), we eagerly await the arrival of your children for the start of the 2022-23 School Year!
Our school administrators, faculty and staff are all hard at work preparing to offer an excellent educational experience beginning on August 29th. You’ll be hearing from them very soon via mail. In the meantime, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at all things back-to-school.
The new and improved KCSD Family Access Portal, available via desktop and mobile, will provide you real-time information on your student’s success. Check your inbox for an email from email@example.com to get started with viewing your student’s schedule now! Beginning in September, attendance, grades, report cards and more will also be available here.
Thanks to federally-funded programs, food was free for all students throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that those programs have expired, school breakfast and lunch will come at the following costs:
- Breakfast: $1.50
- Elementary Lunch: $3
- Secondary Lunch: $3.25
We encourage everyone, regardless of their income, to complete an online or print application for Free or Reduced Price Meals. All qualifying families will save money on meals and the District will receive more accurate state funding. Bilingual application support will be available at all back-to-school events.
For additional information, please visit the KCSD Website and contact the Department of Dining Services at (610) 444-7725 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Each year, our School Nurses require that you complete an up-to-date Emergency Form. This form provides important updates about your child’s health. It also allows nurses to administer over-the-counter medications and contact you when needed.
You may log into the KCSD Family Access Portal to complete this form now. A copy will also be included in your printed packet and can be returned in-person on the first day of school.
As a reminder, to ensure the wellbeing of all students, please keep your child home with any symptoms of illness and contact your school.
Families in need of healthcare benefits for their children are encouraged to consider CHIP.
All KCSD students will receive a district-issued Chromebook on the first day of school. Elementary students will maintain their devices at school. Secondary students will transport their devices to-and-from school every day. A District Handbook and Student Device Agreement Form are forthcoming.
You may log into the KCSD Family Access Portal to access your student’s bus route.
Should you have questions or concerns regarding your student’s travel to-and-from school, please visit the KCSD Website and contact the Department of Transportation at (610) 444-6619 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Note: Parent pick-up and drop-off instructions vary by school. Those who desire to drive their child should refer to their printed packet.
As always, we thank you. There is no doubt that parents are among our greatest partners. Please know that we see and celebrate all that you do!
Should you have any other questions or concerns, please contact KCSD Communications Specialist Nikki Laws anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org or (610) 444-6646.
