A Message from Superintendent Dr. Rizzo Saunders

For our Kennett Consolidated Community:

As we approach this moment in our nation’s democratic process, I want to share some thoughts about the presidential election and how we can respect and support one another during this time. The opportunity to participate in a free and fair election is a remarkable privilege of our democracy, and we are fortunate to live in a country that is shaped by diverse voices and civic engagement.

At Kennett Consolidated School District, our priority is to create an educational environment rooted in respect, curiosity, and critical thinking.  A presidential election presents valuable learning opportunities for students, helping them understand the democratic process and each individual’s role in contributing to the outcome. Our teachers and staff are prepared to proceed as normal with planned instruction.

We know that elections can bring out a wide range of emotions and beliefs. It’s natural for students and staff to experience different reactions to the outcome, and it’s essential that our district remains a supportive and welcoming space for ALL. Our code of conduct is in place to uphold our commitment to respect and kindness, ensuring that each person in our school community feels safe, valued, and heard. Any actions or words that compromise this supportive environment will be addressed in alignment with our code of conduct.

I encourage families to have conversations at home that focus on civic values. Together, we can help our students grow as informed, responsible, and respectful members of society who value the importance of diverse perspectives and civil discourse.  As we move forward, let us reaffirm our shared commitment to unity, respect, and learning. We are grateful for the support and dedication you provide to our students, staff, and the Kennett community.  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our District Office at 610-444-6600.

Thank you for standing with us as we nurture the next generation of engaged citizens.

Warm regards,

Dr. Kimberly Rizzo Saunders
