David Kronenberg

Mr. David Kronenberg, President

David Kronenberg has worked as a product manager and brand ambassador in the financial and nonprofit sectors. He believes in the innate capabilities of each student-- and that individual success promotes Kennett success. He is committed to the importance of the partnership between students, parents, staff and community partners. He believes in the benefits of public school education, and that effective governance, leadership and resource management require listening, a commitment to learning and trust. He is thankful for our students, for those who support them and for the opportunity to serve as a School Director. Dave is proud of his son and daughter, who are both in the Kennett Class of 2026.

Victoria Gehrt

Dr. Victoria Gehrt, Vice President

Region C– Kennett Township & East Marlborough Township Independent #1

Victoria Gehrt has been a public educator for 48 years, both in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Her experiences during her career were vast, beginning as a special education teacher then moving on to specialized positions during the period when northern Delaware public schools were desegregated by court order. Experiences she encountered in those positions made a profound impact on shaping and guiding her collaborative leadership style. She has served in various capacities that include assistant principal, director of instructional services, assistant superintendent and superintendent. A champion of career and technical education, Vicki was known to be a “go-to” resource for elected officials, state agencies and organizations on policies affecting vocational education, funding and equity issues. She wishes to continue to serve our educational community with her knowledge, expertise and passion of current and future educational practices that benefit our youth. She has always and continues to believe that we have a responsibility to ensure that our students are provided with innovative and thoughtful educational experiences that will enable them to be successful in their future endeavors whether it be on a local, national or global level.

Michael Finnegan

Mr. Michael Finnegan, Treasurer

Region C– Kennett Township & East Marlborough Township Independent #1

Term Expires: December 2027

Michael Finnegan has served as the director of LabWare Holding Inc. since 1993. He has been on the KCSD School Board since 2007 and has served as treasurer and finance chairs. In addition, he is a board member with the Kennett Education Foundation and with numerous other non-profit organizations. His main focus has been youth development, primarily in academics, music and sports.

Lenda Carrillo

Ms. Lenda Carrillo

Region A– Kennett Square Borough

Term Expires: December 2027

Lenda Carrillo, born and raised in Mexico, moved to Kennett Square when she was 16.  Lenda later graduated from Kennett High School, Penn State and Immaculata University. She is currently employed as a clinical supervisor for Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems and previously worked for the Kennett Area YMCA as the community outreach director and for Kennett Area Community Service (KACS) as a caseworker. As a volunteer, Lenda has given her time to Casa Guanajuato, the Chester County Children, Youth and Family Advisory Committee, Longwood Gardens and Young Moms. Lenda and her husband, Jose, have two young sons. She hopes to make a difference by volunteering in our community.

Ethan Cramer

Mr. Ethan Cramer

Region A– Kennett Square Borough

Term Expires: December 2025

Ethan Cramer is a community organizer. He has lived in Kennett Square since 2007, when he moved into a tight-knit Latinx neighborhood in Stenning Hills. He began volunteering for the Study Buddies after-school program in the Historic East Linden Neighborhood of the Borough as a tutor and instructor beginning in 2011, and has close connections in that community as well. His experience of neighbors becoming family has been formative, and he focuses on the role our schools play in connecting our region’s diverse communities together. Ethan served on Kennett Square’s Borough Council for six years, beginning his term on the KCSD School Board at the end of 2021. He is proud of his record supporting diverse voices, working for good government practices and supporting staff and educators. Ethan’s spouse, Michele, is a long-term teacher in the West Chester Area School District. His son, Elias, is an amazing 10th grader at Kennett High School.

Jeffrey McVey

Dr. Jeffrey McVey 

Region B– New Garden Township

Term Expires: December 2025

Jeffrey McVey is a health science executive. He currently serves as an account director at Jazz Pharmaceuticals and previously held roles at Point-of-Care Partners, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Health System, where he was an assistant professor and clinical pharmacist. Both Jeff and his wife attended public schools and believe that an effective public school system is an essential component of a strong community. His three children attended KCSD schools.

Mark Bowden

Mr. Mark Bowden 

Region C– Kennett Township & East Marlborough Township Independent #1

Term Expires: December 2025

Mark Bowden is an author and journalist. He was a staff writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer for 25 years, a national correspondent for The Atlantic and taught for sixteen years at Loyola University of Maryland and The University of Delaware, where he was writer in residence. He serves on the School Board out of a desire to serve the community.
